Express Entry

Express Entry is an online application process for Skilled and Qualified workers based on the results of a questionnaire (the Comprehensive Ranking System CRS).  These answers are then given a score which will rank you; Those with the highest score are then given an invitation to apply for Permanent Residence.  The three available programs are listed below:

• Federal Skilled Worker Program
• Federal Skilled Trades Program
• Canadian Experience Class

The points are based on the below factors (max total 1200).

Core: Up to 600 points

1. Skills and experience factors
2. Spouse or common-law partner factors, such as their language skills and education
3. Skills transferability, including education and work experience

Additional: Up to 600 points

1. Canadian degrees, diplomas or certificates
2. a valid job offer
3. a nomination from a province or territory
4. a brother or sister living in Canada who is a citizen or permanent resident
5. strong French language skills

Core points + Additional points = your total score

The higher your score, the better your chances will be in being invited to apply for Permanent Residence.  In 80% of cases Express entry takes about 6 months to process from the date that it is received.  Please note that this processing times do not include the time it takes for an Express Entry Profile to be submitted, receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and complete the final application for submission.
